Seneca County Budget Commission Sets 2026 Meeting Schedule The Seneca County Budget Commission has released its 2026 meeting schedule. Meetings will take place at 9 a.m. in the conference room on the lower level of the RTA Building, 109 S. Washington St., Tiffin, unless otherwise noted. Per Ohio Revised Code 5705.27, the commission meets the first Monday of February and August, with remaining meetings generally held the first Tuesday of each month. Additional meetings will be scheduled as needed. The scheduled 2026 Meeting Dates are as follows: • January 6 and 20 (if needed)• February 2 (Monday)• March 3• April 7• May 5• June 2 and 16 (if needed)• July 7• August 3 (Monday)• September 2 (Wednesday) and 15 (if needed)• October 6• November 3• December 2 (Wednesday), 15 (if needed), and 22 (if needed) All requests for amended certificates or revenue adjustments must be submitted to the Seneca County Auditor's Office at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. All Budget Commission actions are public. Wood County veterans to be honored BOWLING GREEN — The Wood County Committee on Aging will be making special deliveries to the homes of many county military veterans on Nov. 3.The first 85 veterans age 50 and over to be registered will receive a velvet poppy pin, a yard sign and a slice of pie delivered to their homes between 1 and 4 p.m.Those in Wood County who are veterans or know a veteran in Wood County may register for the delivery by calling 419-353-5661 or 1-800-367-4935 or by emailing to programs@wccoa.net.Registration will require the veteran's name, address, branch of service, phone number and confirmation that the person will be home to receive the acknowledgement.Registrations will be accepted until Oct. 27 or until the maximum is reached. Heidelberg School of Business to Host Inaugural Global Faculty Week Heidelberg University's School of Business will host its first-ever Global Faculty Week from October 13–16, bringing international scholars to campus to share their expertise and foster global collaboration. The four-day event will feature guest lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions designed to connect Heidelberg students and faculty with global perspectives in business, psychology, and leadership. Visiting scholars will engage the campus community through two public events exploring topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, multiculturalism, and global business strategy. Both events are free and open to Heidelberg students, faculty, staff, and the local community. The first event, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day, will take place Monday, October 13 from 6–7 p.m. in Adams Hall 204, and will feature a discussion highlighting global perspectives on culture, community, and development. The second, Meet the Authors, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14 from 6–7 p.m. in the University Commons, offering an evening conversation with the visiting scholars about their research and published works. Among the visiting scholars are: • Dr. Matthew Bereza, associate professor of psychology and chair of the Division of Behavioral Sciences at St. John Fisher University in New York, is a Heidelberg alumnus whose research explores developmental psychology, multicultural perspectives, and community well-being. • Dr. Dante B. Castro, research professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey Business School in Mexico, focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and family business management. • Dr. Evodio Kaltenecker, associate teaching professor at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business, specializes in global strategy, emerging markets, and Latin American business. Global Faculty Week represents a growing emphasis on international learning and cross-cultural exchange within Heidelberg's School of Business and across the university community.
