Fostoria cleanup day scheduled

FOSTORIA — Several area agencies are teaming up to host a community cleanup day in Fostoria on Oct. 29, allowing for residents to take unwanted or unneeded items to Memorial Stadium, 530 Stadium Drive, from 4 to 6 p.m., for recycling.Persons who have large items or who are unable take items to the stadium may schedule a pickup, provided by Olmstead Hauling, by calling 419-435-2844 or emailing to info@fostoriahabitat.org today.Clothes, books, home decor, toys and games, baby items tools and a variety of other items will be accepted. Electronics recycling will be provided by Fostoria Computer and Electronic Repair (PC419). A $5, cash only, fee will be charged for each television. Outside of this event, persons may pay to schedule a pickup by calling or texting to 419-379-8988.Hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, antifreeze, pharmaceuticals, automotive parts (including tires), yard waste, batteries, oil and non-residential waste will not be accepted. WIN Waste Innovations will provide disposal.Persons who are interested in volunteering or have questions may call the United Way of Fostoria at 419-435-2555.Volunteer activities may be canceled in the event of inclement weather, but receptacles will remain open.Detailed lists of accepted items and further information is available online at www.fostoriahabitat.org/cleanup-day.
