Findlay officer-involved shooting leads to man's death

FINDLAY — An officer-involved shooting led to the death of an unidentified man in Findlay Wednesday afternoon. About 1:47 p.m., Findlay police were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Cherry Lane after a report of a shooting. Dispatch attempted to contact the caller again once officers arrived on scene but got no answer, a release from Findlay Police Department states. When police approached a door of the residence, a man opened it and brandished a firearm. Officers fired multiple times at the man, "striking him several times," the release states. The man was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured at the scene. Police are not identifying the man until next of kin are notified, the release states. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation into the incident.
