School board members elected

Tuesday's general election included 46 candidates vying for seats on local school boards. Some were incumbents, while others are sought office for the first time, and a number of races were uncontested. When asked what they believed was the biggest issue public schools are facing, the candidates who responded largely agreed that funding was the major obstacle for schools in Ohio. The results of local school board races are as follows: Member of Governing Board of Educational Service Center North Central Ohio ESC District 2: Steven Snavely, who ran uncontested. Tiffin City Schools: Joanna Beres, Larry Kisabeth and Victor Perez ran uncontested. Arcadia Local School District: Corey Goes, Ryan George and Andrew Roberts won seats on the board. Candidate Rachelle Harmon was defeated. Bellevue City School District: Dana Eakins, Joel LaPata, and William Evert beat Nicholas Jarrett for seats on the board. Buckeye Central Local School District: Lisa Aichholz, Adam Burdette Dallas and Christopher Martin won seats, with candidate Kurt Martin being defeated. Carey Exempted Village Schools: Matthew Baldridge, Melissa Cole and Brian Will were selected for the board. Linda Kin was defeated. Clyde Green Springs Schools: Ken DeChant, Megan Miller and Dennis Mosier ran uncontested. Hopewell-Loudon Local School District: Jill Beidelschies, Linda Depinet, and Justin Wyman beat Adam Alt for seats on the board. Lakota Local School District: Angie McGinnis, Nancy Timmons and Timothy Woodruff were selected to the school board. Fred Keith and Katie Ward were defeated. Mohawk Local School District: Lori Arnold and Nichole England ran uncontested. New Riegel Local School District: Jeff Hohman, Jaclyn Schalk and Darrell Tiell were elected to the board, defeating Erin Love. Old Fort Local School District: Gwendolyn Stallard was elected to the board. Emily Riehle was a write-in candidate; that result was unavailable at press time. Seneca East Local School District: Kelly Shock and Daniel Stacklin ran uncontested. Vanlue Local School District: Dawn Caudill, Sarah Garner and Sean Martin won seats on the board, defeating Eli Hershberger.
