Good Shepherd employee wins state award

FOSTORIA — Tina Pine, social services director at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, has been awarded the 2025 Award of Excellence by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., the nursing home announced in a news release. The award was presented during the agency's annual meeting on Tuesday, which recognized professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to serving older adults across the region. According to the news release, Pine was honored for her "unwavering commitment, professionalism and deeply compassionate approach to supporting residents and their families. The release said Pine, in her role at Good Shepherd Home, is known "for going above and beyond to ensure individuals receive the services, advocacy and guidance they need to maintain dignity, independence and quality of life." Chris Widman, Good Shepherd Home's executive director, was quoted in the release as saying: "Tina exemplifies the heart of social services. Her responsiveness, empathy and dedication make a tremendous impact on every resident and family she works with. This recognition is a testament to her exceptional service and the positive difference she makes every single day." The Area Agency on Aging highlighted Pine's efficiency, expertise and strong support of case managers, noting that her efforts have had a meaningful and lasting influence on both clients and colleagues throughout the community.
