Seneca County Christmas Bird Count — 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 S. OH-19, Bloomville. For ages 12 and up. Walk the preserve trails while identifying and counting bird species as part of a winter bird count. Binoculars are helpful. Registration required at least 24 hours in advance. Register online at senecacountyparks.com Sandusky County Winter Camp: Session 1 — 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday–Tuesday, Dec. 22–23 at Creek Bend Farm, 720 S. Main St., Lindsey. A two-day winter camp featuring outdoor exploration and pirate-themed games and activities. Participants will investigate nature through hands-on experiences. An afternoon snack is provided each day; campers should bring a packed lunch and reusable water bottle. For youth ages 6–12. Cost is $30. Registration required. Join a naturalist for a guided hike as part of a monthly exploration series visiting different parks throughout the county. Suitable for children with an adult and adults. Dogs are welcome. Register online at woodcountyparkdistrict.org Hancock County Winter Sky Mosaics — 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve Discovery Center, 1400 Oakwoods Ave., Findlay. For ages 6–10 with an adult. Create a winter sky mosaic using construction paper arranged on a dark background. All supplies provided. Free; registration required by 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. Pioneer Food Preservation: Open House — 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods McKinnis House, 6100 US-224, Findlay. Learn how pioneers preserved food in the 1840s using methods such as drying and smoking. Samples of beef jerky will be available. Free; registration not required. Winter Storytime by the Fire — 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve Discovery Center, 1400 Oakwoods Ave., Findlay. For ages 4–5 with an adult. Listen to a winter-themed story by the fireplace and take part in hands-on activities including making "snow" and a Canada goose craft. Free; registration not required. Christmas Tree Hike — 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Riverbend Recreation Area, Meadows Activity Area near Brugeman Lodge, 16618 TR-208, Findlay. For ages 5–10 with an adult. Learn about evergreen trees during a short hike, collect pinecones, and create holiday-themed crafts. Dress for the weather and activities. Free; registration not required.
