HURON — Calvert held Huron to one field goal over the final four minutes and pulled out a 52-47 nonconference win.The Senecas took the lead for good when Grady Otterbacher's 3-pointer with 55 seconds to play gave the visitors a 48-45 lead.Vincenzo Lyons was 4 for 4 from the free throw line in the final 33 seconds to seal the victory.Lyons finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Studer captures Border War crownDEFIANCE — Columbian's Braydon Studer claimed a title and teammate Drew Aigler and Mohawk's Kaden Bish each earned runner-up honors Tuesday at the Defiance Tri-State Border War.Studer's crown came at 120 pounds with an 11-8 win against Archbold's Ty Bosco.Aigler ended second at 144 pounds after suffering a 20-4 technical fall loss to Max Beck of Toledo St. John.Bish finished second at 175 pounds following a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Napoleon's Hayden Groll.Three other Mohawk grapplers and one from Columbian also placed.Owen Patrizi and Braxton Frisch each captured third for Mohawk.Patrizi scored a 10-0 major decision at 144 pounds against Nathan Craig of Fremont Ross, and Frisch downed Allen East 165-pounder Jacob Hawk 14-9.Myer Kirian added an eighth for the Warriors at 138 pounds after a 5-4 loss to Elmwood's Zachary Schafer.Mason Garno took fourth for Columbian at 215 pounds, falling 7-2 to Toledo Waite's Deandre Burkes.Archbold overwhelmed Yale 225-191 for the team title.
