4 affordable homes to be built on South Sandusky

TIFFIN — The Seneca Regional Chamber & Development, a division of the Seneca County Collaborative, in coordination with the Seneca County Land Bank, is excited to announce the application process for a new affordable homeownership program is now open as of Jan. 6. The program is set to bring four newly constructed homes to South Sandusky Street in Tiffin. The homes are currently under construction and are expected to be sold to income-qualified buyers for no more than $180,000, with final purchase prices based on buyer eligibility and mortgage approval. The program is designed for owner-occupants who plan to live in the home as their primary residence long term. Individuals and families interested in applying are encouraged to visit TiffinHomes.org to check their eligibility using a quick, income-based screening tool and download the full application packet. The website also includes detailed information about the homes, program requirements, and key deadlines. "These homes represent an important opportunity to expand access to quality, affordable homeownership in Tiffin," said Mayor Lee Wilkinson. "By providing a clear and accessible application process, we want to make it as easy as possible for qualified residents to determine if this opportunity is right for them." Each home will feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms, approximately 1,370 square feet of living space, an attached single-car garage, a utility room, and all new appliances. Final layouts and finishes may vary slightly between homes. Eligibility is based on household size, total household income, and additional requirements outlined in the application packet. A complete application, including a mortgage pre-approval letter, must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27. Applications will be reviewed for eligibility, and final buyer selection will be made by the Seneca County Land Bank.
