New support center to improve local emergency response

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Support Operations Center has officially opened at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. The facility serves as a centralized hub for local emergency response support and volunteer operations, strengthening the county's ability to coordinate resources and assist residents during emergencies and public events. The Support Operations Center brings together two key volunteer organizations under one roof: the Seneca County Community Emergency Response Team and the Seneca County Water Rescue Team. Both organizations support first responders, assist during emergency situations and provide services at community events throughout Seneca County. Co-locating these teams is intended to improve coordination, streamline access to equipment and enhance overall emergency response capabilities countywide. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by community leaders and elected officials, reflecting broad support for the facility and its role in county preparedness. The Seneca County United Veterans Council participated in the event by conducting a flag-raising ceremony. The opening of the Support Operations Center recognizes the ongoing contributions of CERT and Water Rescue Team volunteers, whose training and service support emergency preparedness efforts across Seneca County. The facility is expected to play an important role in strengthening response capabilities for years to come.
