SYCAMORE — Hopewell-Loudon took control in the second quarter and kept pulling away Saturday en route to dropping Mohawk 56-38.Mohawk led 11-7 at the first break, but H-L countered with a 19-3 surge in the second period and outscored the Warriors 30-24 in the second half.Collin Smith led everyone with 20 points for the Chieftains (10-8), Ashton Miller tossed in 18 and Kellen Frankart tallied 14. Tucker-led TC boots WaiteTOLEDO — Blake Tucker ignited Columbian early and the Tornadoes kept rolling Saturday in a 73-42 whipping of Toledo Waite.Tucker scored 11 points in the opening period to help vault the Tornadoes (9-10) to a 27-8 lead. He ended with a game-high 23 points.Logan Gooding backed him with 10 points, and Nolan Miller and Kyle Hepp each tossed in seven. Big Green knock off Senecas in OTOTTOVILLE – Fans got their money's worth going all the way to Ottoville Saturday. After a slow start from Calvert, the Senecas held a 44-39 lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Big Green forced the game to go into overtime as they made 15 of 18 foul shots in the extra period to pull out a 74-70 victory.For the game, Ottoville had a big advantage at the charity stripe, going 22 of 37, while Calvert was only 10 of 19.Vincenzo Lyons continued his tear of late with 22 points and nine rebounds for the Senecas (10-7), while Logan Ritzler added 16 points and five assists, Logan DeMoss chipped in 15 points and six boards and Grady Otterbacher ended with nine points and eight assists. Titans top Redmen 57-49OTTAWA - It wasn't the ending Bellevue was hoping for.Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Bellevue 57-49 on Saturday at the Robert J. Hermiller Gymnasium in non-conference play.Bellevue had the lead and was charging towards victory for the first three quarters. A coast-to-coast pass from Reid Claus connected with Sam Bollinger for two points making it 39-37.Late third quarter, O-G (11-5) utilized Nolan Duling to nail a triple prior to a timeout called. After that call, Duling drilled another triple as the buzzer sounded and the score was 43-39.Bellevue (12-7) struck at the start of the fourth quarter to try and take the lead back as Bollinger scored a basket, but back-to-back buckets by Brody Fortman put the Redmen in the hole by six points. With 5:24 on the clock, Bollinger scored on a putback making it 47-43. The closest the Redmen got was within a three point striking range of 49-46 on a Claus triple. From there, O-G put together a 7-2 run to defeat Bellevue.Bollinger led Bellevue with 15, while Ike Brown had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Streaks keep Blue Jackets winlessNEW RIEGEL – New Riegel had a good chance at grabbing a win Saturday, but Fremont St. Joe did just enough to hold off the Blue Jackets 46-38 in SBC River play.Kayla Hessick led the Streaks with 14 points, while Savannah Foos chipped in eight.Molly Pahl and Maddie Heilman each dropped in 10 points for New Riegel (0-20, 0-12).
