Franciscan Partnership Awards recognize recipients

TIFFIN — The Sisters of St. Francis and affiliated ministries have announced the recipients of the 2026 Franciscan Partnership Awards. The honor recognizes individuals whose service supports the mission and daily work of the Franciscan community. Richard and Andrea Traunero received the Franciscan Partnership Award from the Sisters of St. Francis in recognition of their long service as funeral directors, a role they have held since 1997. They assist with funeral arrangements and support the community at the time of a Sister's death. Richard has researched green burial practices to help guide environmentally conscious decisions and also volunteers as a pilot transporting patients to specialized medical care, with Andrea often accompanying him. Richard served nearly 25 years on the St. Francis Spirituality Center Development Committee, and Andrea organized volunteers to sew protective masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ann Seyer received the Franciscan Partnership Award from St. Francis Senior Ministries for her volunteer service and support of residents at St. Francis Home. She founded a Parkinson's support group on the St. Francis campus and hosts meetings at her villa. Seyer began volunteering in the Activities Department while her husband was a resident and continued her service after his death. She regularly assists with activities and is known for offering additional volunteer hours to support residents and staff when needed. Deb Weaver received the Franciscan Partnership Award from the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center for her work with the center and her continued involvement in education. A retired Hopewell-Loudon teacher who now serves as a substitute and supports the district's Athletic Boosters, Weaver coordinates field trips and educational programming. She develops curriculum, works with teachers, prepares materials and learning spaces, and helps maintain the site to support visiting students and groups.
