Turinsky tops area All-Ohio players

COLUMBUS — Kaitlyn Turinsky landed on the Division IV first team and two Bellevue teammates also gained honors Monday when the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association announced its All-Ohio girls basketball teams for Divisions IV, V, VI and VII.Turinsky capped her prep career by leading the Lady Red to a state runner-up finish one year after helping Bellevue claim the title.She averaged 12.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.9 blocks and 2.6 steals per game for Bellevue.Freshman teammate Ava Jakubcin-Theis (13.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.9 spg) gained special mention, and junior Ellie Freitag (7.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 5.2 apg, 2.9 spg) ended as an honorable mention pick.Clyde junior Taitum Jeffrey (17.1 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 2.1 spg) took finished on the second team.Rylee Markel (16.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.1 spg) of Lakota ended her senior season as a special mention player in Division VI.The Carey duo of senior Emily Brodman (8.7 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.8 spg) and sophomore McKinnley Kessler (9.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.8 apg, 2.9 spg) wound up on the honorable mention list.Six area players earned honors in Division VII.The special mention list included Seneca East seniors Izzy Stockmaster (13.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.1 apg, 4.7 spg) and Alexa Snay (12.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.4 spg), as well as Calvert junior Megan Rombach (9.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.3 apg, 3.3 spg).The honorable mention list had Mohawk junior Katie Woodland (11.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.3 spg), Old Fort sophomore Adelyn Dick (12.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.3 spg) and Hopewell-Loudon junior Karsyn Snyder (9.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.0 spg).
