9 indicted for illegal re-entry into the US

SANDUSKY — A federal grand jury recently returned indictments for nine people who were arrested in Erie, Sandusky and Huron counties by the U.S. Border Patrol's Sandusky Bay Station and Immigration and Customs Enforcement for illegal re-entry into the United States. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio noted that the nine cases are separate and are not related, according to a news release from the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio. The nine people who were indicted for illegal re-entry are: • Alonso Díaz-Espinosa, 38, a citizen of Mexico, was found on March 7 near Fremont, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least two occasions with the most recent being Feb. 13, 2026. • Santos Antonio De Jesús Gómez, 46, a citizen of Mexico, was found on March 7 near Fremont, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least two occasions with the most recent being Oct. 26, 2024. • Mario Gregorio-Arias, 49, a citizen of Guatemala, was found on Feb. 17 in Norwalk, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least four occasions with the most recent being April 17, 2018. • Candelaria del Rosario López-Bautista, 38, a citizen of Mexico, was found on Feb. 20 in Sandusky, Ohio. She was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being Nov. 16, 2010. • César Mazariegos-López, aka César Masariegos-López, aka César M. López, 45, a citizen of Mexico, was found on Feb. 20 in Sandusky, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being Nov. 16, 2010. • Alan Ramos-Capultitla, 21, a citizen of Mexico, was found on March 7 near Fremont, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being Feb. 14, 2026. • Jeyson Rodríguez-Lanza, 35, a citizen of Honduras, was found on Feb. 17 in Norwalk, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being March 15, 2023. • Genry Sánchez-Espinoza, 29, a citizen of Honduras, was found on Feb. 16 in Sandusky, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being Feb. 9, 2018. • Carlos Sauceda-Álvarez, 38, a citizen of Honduras, was found on March 7 near Fremont, Ohio. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least two occasions with the most recent being Sept. 23, 2025. The following three men were also charged with illegal re-entry: • Fredy García Rosa, 26, a citizen of Honduras, was found on March 5 in Elyria, Lorain County. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being Aug. 14, 2023. • Cuauhtémoc Hernández-Márquez, aka Ramón Velarde-Márquez, aka Rafael Partida, aka Ramón C. Velarde, aka Cuatemoc Ramon Velarde-Márquez, aka Cuatemoc Ramon Velarde-Marques, aka Ramon Velarde, aka Abraham Perez-Rodriguez, 56, a citizen of Mexico, was found on March 4 in Oregon, Lucas County. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least one occasion with the most recent being May 2, 2003. • Wiliam A. Mendez-Rivera, aka William Rivera-Santos, aka Wuilian Mendes-Santos, 32, a citizen of Honduras, was found on Jan. 10 in Akron, Summit County. He was previously removed from the U.S. on at least three occasions with the most recent being April 6, 2016. All 12 cases are part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Justice to address illegal immigration, dismantle cartels and combat violent crime.
