Seneca County Nature Walk Bird Talk — 8 a.m. April 4 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 OH-19, Bloomville. Participants will walk the trails observing and listening for birds throughout the preserve. Binoculars are helpful, and the program qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Registration required at least 24 hours in advance. Family Fun Event—Dandelions — 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 4 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 OH-19, Bloomville. This guided walk will focus on dandelions, exploring their role in nature and common uses. Participants will learn why the plant is both appreciated and misunderstood. Registration required at least 24 hours in advance. Toddler Trot—Wiggly Things — 4 p.m. April 7 at St. John's Mill River Access, 2320 W. CR-6, Tiffin. For ages 18–36 months. Participants will explore the trails looking under logs and rocks for small creatures while learning about their habitats. Registration required at least 24 hours in advance. Register online at senecacountyparks.com Sandusky County Sensory Play Saturday:Frogs — 10-11 a.m. April 4 at Creek Bend Farm, 720 S. Main St., Lindsey. This toddler-focused program features frog-themed sensory activities designed to engage sight, touch and sound. Participants will also complete a craft and enjoy a small snack. Registration required. America 250—Embroidery — 5-7 p.m. April 7 at Creek Bend Farm, 720 S. Main St., Lindsey. Participants will view historical embroidery designs before creating their own piece to take home. Materials are provided, but participants should bring a fabric item to decorate. Registration required. Participants will walk nearby fields searching for artifacts connected to prehistoric life in the area. Dress for outdoor conditions, and boots are recommended if the ground is wet. Face to Face: Frogs and Toads — 5:30 p.m. April 8 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 OH-598, Bucyrus. Participants will meet live frog ambassadors and learn about their life cycles and behaviors. The program will also cover where these species can be found locally. This indoor presentation will cover different methods of home food preservation and how they can be used today. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch while attending the program. Spring Wildflower Walks — 6:30-7:45 p.m. April 7 at Bradner Preserve, 11491 Fostoria Rd., Bradner. Participants will take a guided walk to observe early spring wildflowers. The program will also explore why these short-lived blooms are known as ephemerals. Coffee with the Birds — 8:30-10 a.m. April 8 at Carter Historic Farm, 18331 Carter Rd., Bowling Green. Participants will enjoy a birding walk beginning with a warm drink before heading out on the trail. The program focuses on observing birds in a relaxed setting. Paddling Prep: How to Kayak Safely — 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 8 at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Rd., Perrysburg. This indoor program will cover safety, equipment and planning for kayaking trips. Certified instructors will provide guidance and answer questions. Homeschoolers: Wildflowers — 10-11:30 a.m. April 9 at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Rd., Perrysburg. Participants will learn about flower structure and how plants produce food. The group will explore different habitats to compare wildflowers found in each area. Founded in Fur: The Fur Trade in Ohio 1500-1800s — 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 9 at Otsego Park, 20000 W. River Rd. (OH-65), Bowling Green. This program will examine the role of the fur trade in shaping early Ohio and the broader region. It will also explore the impact of this trade on settlement and development. Register online at wcparks.org Hancock County Hybrid Animals — 1 p.m. April 4 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. Participants will learn how hybrid animals are formed and what makes them unique. A craft activity using recycled materials will be included. Registration required by 1 p.m. April 3. Wee Ones: Frogs and Toads — 10 a.m. April 6 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. For ages 3 and under with an adult. Participants will learn about frogs and toads through stories, sounds and hands-on activities. Scales, Feathers, and Fur — 1 p.m. April 9 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. For ages 4–6 with an adult. Participants will explore different animal coverings and how they function in nature. A craft will be included. Plein Air Gatherings — 2-4 p.m. April 9 at Blue Rock Nature Preserve, Edgar Street parking lot, Findlay. This program invites artists to create outdoors using any preferred medium. Participants should bring their own supplies and dress for the weather. Little Hands Nature Club: Duck Hunt — 1 p.m. April 10 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay.
