McLane sets homer record

SOLON — Gavin McLane had a day.The 2024 Columbian graduate set a Bryant & Stratton College program record for homers in a game Friday, helping the Bobcats split a doubleheader with Terra State Community College.McLane, the No. 2 batter for the Bobcats, started with a two-run homer in the opening game, which Terra won 22-7.His fireworks occurred in the second game.McLane went 4 for 4 with four home runs and nine RBIs to fuel a 15-5 win by Bryant & Stratton, setting a program record for homers in a game.McLane has already accepted an NCAA Division I scholarship from Eastern Illinois University and will transfer from B&SC, a junior college, at the end of this year. Siesel then beat Marion Harding's Deylon Toombs 8-3.At No. 3 singles, TC's Grant Blonde lost 8-3 to Ashland's Harold Song before outlasting Shelby's Josiah Graves 8-7 (11-9).Dravyn Dicken lost 8-2 at No. 1 singles to Brunswick's Tyler Berg before losing 8-6 to Orrville's Aaden Miller.
