Warriors split with St. PaulNORWALK — Norwalk St. Paul used a four-run burst in the opening game to drop Mohawk 5-4, but the Warriors rebounded in the second game Saturday for a 17-9 victory.The Warriors looked on their way to winning the opener after plating three runs in the top of the fifth for a 3-1 lead.However, the Flyers scored four runs in the sixth to regain the lead and gave up just one run in the seventh en route to the win.Zikki Magallanes took the loss for Mohawk.Andon Clouse and Logan Hemminger each doubled for the Warriors. Tackett, Stockaders steal away from C-ROLD FORT — Andrew Tackett ran wild on the base paths Saturday, helping Old Fort turn a back-and-forth game with Cory-Rawson into a 14-6 runaway win.Old Fort led 4-0 after the second inning, but Cory-Rawson tied the game in the top of the third before inching ahead 5-4 in the fourth.The Stockaders answered with a five-run burst in the in the bottom of the fourth to regain momentum and pull away.Tackett led the charge, going 2 for 3 with a triple, five runs and two RBIs.He also stole seven bases, tying him with nine others for sixth all-time in the state of Ohio for steals in game.Five players hold the state record of eight steals in a game.Meanwhile, Emry Faist struck out 13 and scattered seven hits, four walks and five earned runs over six innings to get the win.Cody Adelsperger added four RBIs, a double, single and run for the Stockaders, Faist doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, Caiden Swecker singled twice and scored three times, Joshua Maxey had a single, run and two RBIs, A.J. Rowlands turned in a single and RBI, and Landon Tyson and Kamryn Wagner both singled. Ellis singles in game-winner for H-LJacoby Ellis snapped a 12-12 tie with an RBI single in the fifth inning Saturday and Hopewell-Loudon held on from there to beat Central Magnet 13-12 in a game played in Tennessee.Kellen Frankart added a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to cut Central Magnet's lead to 5-2, then added a three-run shot in the third as part of a 10-run eruption to put H-L up 12-5.Asher Smith earned the win in relief for the Chieftains.Collin Smith and Brody Brickman added multiple hits for H-L.Brady Yates suffered the loss for the Tigers.Joseph Rowell singled twice and drove in two runs for Central Magnet, Henry Long singled twice, Grayson Laroy and Benson Reavis each had a single and two RBIs, and Thomas Segler and Braylon Dowell both added a single and RBI.
