Bloomville Good Luck Sheep Club The third meeting of the Bloomville Good Luck Sheep Club was at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Bloomville Community Center. The Pledge was led by Dominic Sayre, and the 4-H pledge was led by Zoey Moyer. The treasures report was read and approved by Joseph Tuck, and the Secretary's report was read by Summer Tuck and approved. There were 20 members, 4 advisors, and several parents present. Changes to Attica Fair: discussed the changes with the club and ensured everyone understood. Election of officers for 2026: President- Joe Curry, Vice President- John Curry, Treasurer- Joe Tuck, Secretary- Summer Tuck, Reporter- Ellen Sayre, Safety Reporter- Haleigh Zellner, Health Reporter- Wesley Hess, and Recreation- Aryiah Schumaker. Discussed the theme for the 2026 Seneca County Fair: America built on 250 years of Freedom grown at the Seneca County Fair. Talked about our t-shirt theme ideas. Health and Safety reports were assigned for the remainder of our meetings and passed out to members. Today's meeting also included our QA. We discussed 4-H enrollment and reviewed who still needs to complete payment of $20/member and $10/cloverbud. Members were reminded that all 4-H enrollment must be completed by March 20th. We also talked about raffle ticket sales and identified who still needs to sell their tickets. The club discussed this year's T-shirt design and finalized the theme idea. The shirt will be light grey, with design #7 on the front and design #4 on the back. John Curry made a motion to approve the design, and Austin Bogner seconded the motion. A second motion was made by John Curry and seconded by Austin Bogner to approve using black in the design as well. Wesley Hess presented his Safety Report, which focused on recent recalls of certain items. Lastly, we shared updates regarding the Attica Fair. Our next meeting will be on March 8 @ 6 p.m. at the Bloomville Community Center. Tiffin Rotary President Charlene Thomas opened the April 1 meeting at the Chandelier Event Center. She then offered an opening prayer. Guests today included Joanne Fruth with Char Pope. Attendance this morning was 12. The Basket Fund raised $10. President Charlene reminded the club of the many events coming up. She also noted how important it is to attend Tiffin Rotary events so that you get to know your fellow Rotarians better and the community gets to know us, too. RSVP when asked to so that we can determine if we even want to hold the event and if we do, how much food and supplies we will need, So, please, when asked to RSVP, please do so by the requested date. Charlene also asked members to review the list (attached) of items acceptable for the Time capsule and encouraged them to submit something. Rotarians 100 years from now will be interested in what we were doing and thinking. Turn your items in to Andra. Mohawk Area Women's Literary Club The Mohawk Area Women's Literary Club met April 4, 2026 in the Mohawk Community Library at 7 p.m. President Lori Arnold welcomed members with details about the rarest flowers in Ohio (Snow Trillium and Lake Side Daisy), and the Day Lily as the easiest flower to grow. She added the cuke-a-melon and the yard-long bean as unusual vegetables to grow. Members recited the club creed and song. Ten members answered roll call by answering the question: What's one life or love lesson you've learned along the way? Minutes were read and approved. The treasurer reported no change in the club's account. Old Business: The date of the June meeting has been changed due to conflicts at Picwick, therefore, the date will be June 1 at 10 a.m. New Business: The 2026 Christopher D. English Community Read will be Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 pm. The selection this year is The Astral Library by author Kate Quinn. The meeting was adjourned and Discussion Leader, Rhonda Feasel began with a scrutiny of numerous characters in the novel Things That Grow by author Meredith Goldstein. The book is a beguiling warm story of loss, processing grief and love of nature. The main character, Lori, has spent her teen years living with her Grandma Sheryl. After Sheryl's death, Lori is faced with the challenges of grieving, following her Grandma's instructions to distribute her cremains in places that 'grow', and struggling to remain in the only stable home she has ever known. The novel is full of a large array of unusual and interesting characters who help Lori to grow in knowing her Grandma more deeply as well as her immediate family and supportive friends. Hostesses Virginia Shellhouse, Kristal Distel and Sue Crow offered the members lemon roll cake with whipped cream, assorted nuts and chocolate candies with refreshing water. NRHL 2026-2027 Leadership Team April 7 2026, at 7:30 p.m. the NRHL Leadership Team had a meeting at Hopewell-Loudon. During this meeting we met with the current officers and officers to be, we discussed what office everyone will be running for. In the end we elected the Hopewell-Loudon President Katelynn Scheiderman to be our chairman for the NRHL Leadership Team and the New Riegel president Kamryn Fry to be Vice Chairman. The Hopewell-Loudon Secretary is Mallory Rowe and the New Riegel Secretary is Molly Pahl. The Hopewell-Loudon Treasurer is Tristan Flory and the New Riegel Treasurer is Henry Lucius. The Hopewell-Loudon Reporter will be Avary Elizabeth Hoyer and the New Riegel Reporter will be Logan Zoeller. The Hopewell Loudon Historian will be Sarah Jordan and the New Riegel Historian will be Evie Duryae. Our Sentinel will be Brooke Clouse. Our Chaplin will be Kenedy Clark. Our Parliamentarian will be Maveric Flory. Lastly our Student Advisor will be Sinceer Oates. We wish our 2026-2027 NRHL Leadership Team the best of luck. Kiwanis Club of Tiffin Hannah Vera and her dad, Kip Kieffer, owners of The Milkhouse Reception and Event Center, were the featured speakers for the April 9 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Tiffin. Twenty were in attendance in addition to one member who joined via Zoom. Calvert honor student Max Herbert was the guest of Bernie Steinmetz and Barb Grisard was the guest of her daughter, Pam Greene. Kip said that his grandparents bought the farm where The Milkhouse now stands in 1935 and he and his wife purchased it in 2002. The barn had been unused for six or seven years and Hannah told her dad that she and her future husband Jacob wanted to get married in the barn. It needed a lot of work to turn it into the venue that it is today. It helped in getting the project completed that Kip is a contractor. Hannah and Jacob had the first wedding in The Milkhouse in 2022 and one of her sisters got married there in 2023. The old chicken coop was turned into a bar, the old milking parlor is now the Frank Sinatra Room (with a speak-easy vibe), the holding room for milk is now the groom suite, and the prior birthing area for goats serves as the main bar. The family tried to use as much of the original wood as possible in remaking the venue. The dessert table used to be a water trough from 1948. Such things as guestrooms and a bridal suite were added on to the original structure. The main reception area is 3,200 square feet and can hold approximately 300 guests. Hannah said that somewhere around 20 - 30 events were held last year with 50 already this year. Twenty to 30 events are scheduled for 2027 so far. The cost to rent The Milkhouse is as follows: * Friday wedding $3,500* Saturday wedding $4,500* Sunday wedding $3,000 There is an additional charge of $1,000 for those who need the venue the night before the wedding. General events are priced in the $400 - $500 range. The Milkhouse does not have a liquor license or a catering license so couples are responsible for providing their own drinks and catering. The venue is equipped with a prep kitchen for caterers. The Milkhouse is located on State Route 67 about a mile and-a-half off of US 224 and is three miles north of Melmore. Club president Pam Greene opened the meeting leading all in the Pledge of Allegiance and Kiwanis Mission Statement. Eric Willman provided the prayer. Pam said that Melissa Mullins, Tammy Waugaman and Shirley Smith are joining her in attending the Division 12 meeting and officer elections. The Kiwanis Club of Tiffin is co-hosting the meeting. Kiwanis members will be serving at Noble Elementary School on April 10 for the B.U.G. (Bringing Up Grades) program. Game night with Tiffin University's Circle K is scheduled for April 14 from 6:00 - 8:00pm in the Ralph Hyatt Room at Kiwanis Manor. Polo shirts were on display and order forms will be available soon for those who wish to purchase Kiwanis gear. The Club is still in need of a President-elect. Rick Dorsch and Melissa Mullins celebrated club anniversaries. Rick Dorsch won the 50/50 drawing. The speaker for the April 16 meeting will be Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson. The Kiwanis Club of Tiffin meets each Thursday at noon and is always in search of new members. Kiwanis members make a difference in our community and you could become a part of it.
