Star Theater to present 'Dearly Departed'

UPPER SANDUSKY — The Star Theatre is excited to present its latest production, Dearly Departed, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on April 23-26 and a Sunday matinee from 2-4 p.m. The comedy written by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones follows a Southern family preparing to bury its patriarch after his sudden death. A regional cast and crew consisting of residents from Bucyrus, Galion, Marion, Tiffin and Upper Sandusky are involved in the production, which is to be directed by Eric Julian "EJ" Walker and assisted by Liberty Davis. The cast includes Tammy Boyce as Raynelle, Rev. Jim Stauffer as Ray-Bud, Jordan Treadway as Lucille, Max Schoenberger as Junior, Amanda Wiggins as Suzanne, Bee Darnell as Delightful, Martha Tidball as Marguerite and Zach Penwell as Royce. Additional roles include Talon Malone as Rev. Hooker, Liberty Davis as Veda, John Krock as Norval, Lori Wygal as Nadine, Josh Rigsby as Clyde and Angie Thompson as Juanita. The role of patriarch Bud Turpin will be portrayed by a different local performer at each show. Jodi Salyer is to serve as Stage Manager, with Judy Tong responsible for costume design.
