BASCOM — Hopewell-Loudon took the early lead and weathered Upper Sandusky's late push Saturday to claim a 4-3 win.The Chieftains led 3-0 after the third inning and 4-1 by the end of the fourth.The Rams added single runs in the sixth and seventh before reliever Reiyc Hoover picked up the save to preserve the win for Austin Smith.Jacoby Ellis and Hoover each went 2 for 3 with a run for H-L, Collin Smith singled and drove in two runs, Jack Colatruglio doubled and scored, Brody Brickman and Reese Alt both singled, Kellen Frankart drove in a run and Shawn Pierce scored.Jonathan Craig took the loss for Upper Sandusky. They also got a double, a single and an RBI from Vincenzo Lyons and a single and an RBI apiece from Braxton Shoemaker and Cohen Stull.Landon Tarris and Garrett Hall both produced two singles for the Blue Devils (6-2), while David Hall blasted a double.Tucker Coleman got the win on the hill in his 2 2/3 innings of relief. Bucks sweep away CrestlineNEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central combined a solid effort from Jeremiah Fishpaw with a late surge in the second game Saturday to sweep Crestline 10-5 and 13-7 in a doubleheader.Fishpaw went 2 for 3 with two doubles, two runs, two RBIs and four steals in the opener, then added a 3-for-4 effort with a double, two runs, an RBI and another steal in the second game for the Bucks (3-5).That second win took some doing.Both teams scored single runs in the first and second innings before Crestline inched ahead 4-2 in the third.The Bucks tied the game with single runs in the four and fifth, only to have the Bulldogs plate three in the top of the sixth.Buckeye Central answered with nine runs in the bottom of the frame and turned away Crestline (1-6) from there.Hunter Caudill earned the win in relief in the second game. Comets cruise by Clyde 12-4GENOA – Clyde fell behind 10-0 after three innings on the road at Genoa Saturday in a 12-4 loss.Colt Flores led the charge at the plate for the Fliers (1-3) with a double, while Adam Young singled and drove in a run and Joel Greenslade and Jonathan Lantz each drove in a run.Adler Renfro took the loss on the hill, allowing seven runs on just three hits in 1 1/3 innings. Polar Bears fend off RaidersKANSAS – Lakota couldn't quite get all the way out of a 9-4 hole in the final inning as the Raiders made things interesting late, but fell 9-7 to visiting Margaretta.Lakota (4-2) out-hit the Polar Bears 12-8 as Grant Scherger (2 RBI), AJ Gosche (2B, RBI), Hunter Sweeney and Reid Timmons (2 RBI) all tallied two hits, while Jack Widman slapped a single and drove in a run.Izrael Smith suffered the loss on the bump, allowing seven runs on six hits in just two innings. Graham Harmon and Scherger each pitched as well. Eagles limit WarriorsSYCAMORE – Wyatt King pitched a strong seven innings Saturday for Mohawk, but Colonel Crawford took advantage of each hit in a 4-1 N10 win.King took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits with four walks and three punchouts.At the plate, Mohawk (2-6, 0-4 N10) only had five hits as Cam Oesch had two singles.
