Brickner's walk-off 1B lifts Warriors

SYCAMORE – A day after Colonel Crawford clipped Mohawk 5-4 in nine innings, the Warriors got revenge. Tuesday with the score tied at 5 in the bottom of the eighth, Mohawk's Emily Brickner slapped a walk-off single, lifting the Warriors to a big 6-5 N10 win.Mohawk (7-1, 4-1 N10) was cruising with a 5-0 lead after five innings before the Eagles (11-4, 4-1) scored five in the next two innings to send it to extras.Mallory Brickner belted a two-run shot and singled, while Katie Woodland tripled, doubled and drove in a run and Mara Haynes homered and drove in a run.Aubrey Gottfried went all eight frames in the circle, allowing five runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and three walks on 124 pitches. She gave up four runs on eight hits. Raiders can't overcome 10 errorsKANSAS – Lakota led Oak Harbor 1-0 after an inning Tuesday. But then errors and the Rockets' bats waking up was not the right combination for the Raiders in the end in a 16-2 loss.Mya Stoudinger singled twice for Lakota (3-5), while Chevelle Rubel tripled and drove in a pair of runs and Sophia Bomer singled twice.Bomer suffered the loss in the circle, giving up 12 runs (two earned) on seven hits in three innings.
