Wagner sparks Lady Red championship

CLYDE — Amerie Wagner won two sprints and helped Bellevue's girls put an exclamation point on a team championship with a meet record in the final race Friday at the Clyde A.W. Hendricks Invitational.Wagner claimed the 100 (12.46) and 200 (25.74) and ran with Kameron Koch, Reese Meacham and Hallie McCarthy to capture the 4x400 in a meet-record time of 4:06.81.That all helped the Lady Red storm past Oak Harbor 183-115 for the top team spot.Clyde and Columbian tied for fourth with 81 points in the nine-team field.Other wins for Bellevue came from high jumper Kaitlyn Turinsky (5-2), long jumper Natalie Littlejohn (16-11 1/2), pole vaulter Lilly Sosa (10-6), McCarthy in the 300 hurdles (46.89), and the 4x200 team of Natalie Littlejohn, Bella Slater, Emma Raymond and Payton Taylor (1:48.72).Runner-up finishes went to Wagner in the high jump (5-2), McCarthy in the 100 hurdle (17:04), Meacham in the 1,600 (5:37.41), Koch in the 800 (2:24.53), and the 4x800 team of Meacham, Holly Caranfa, Lyla Young and Koch (10:15.47).Myahann Reesman took third in the shot (32-7 1/4), and ran with Sosa, Littlejohn and Taylor to end third in the 4x100 (52.09).Slater added thirds in the 100 hurdles (17.11) and 300 (49.38), as did McCarthy in the long jump (15-5 3/4).Raymond clocked in fourth in the 400 (1:03.61).Bailey Nichols took fifth in the shot (31-2 3/4) and discus (99-3).Other fifths came from pole vaulter Ariana McCleese (8-0), Lyla Young in the 800 (2:36.61), Taylor in the 200 (27.69) and Brynlee Porter in the 3,200 (13:04.56).Turinsky came in sixth in the 400 (1:04.78).Amber Bischoff ended seventh in the 3,200 (13:27.53).Reesman added an eighth in the discus (88-9).Marissa Gessner keyed host Clyde by winning the 3,200 (12:25.0) and helping the Flyers end third in the 4x800 (10:37.0).Kayla Tischler, Laney Renfro and Jolene Brennan joined her on the relay.Gabby Griffin ran second in the 100 (12.91) and 200 (26.48), and a third in the 400 (1:02.64).Pole vaulter Braylee Laughlin added a runner-up effort (10-0).The Flyers got a third from the 4x400 team of Griffin, Anabelle Zieber, Renfro and Brennan (4:17.13).Fourths went to Renfro in the 1,600 (5:40.59), Addy Siedenburg in the discus (107-9) and Casey Fisher in the 300 hurdles (50.12).Fisher claimed fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.53), as did the 4x200 team of Kyleigh McHugh, Fisher, Ruth Guzman-Moreno and Zieber (1:54.33).Sixths came from high jumper Annmarie Davis (4-6) and Renfro in the 800 (2:37.22).Siedenburg took eighth in the shot (27-0), as did the 4x100 team of Zieber, Guzman-Moreno, Fisher and McHugh (54.02).Columbian's Carmen Lewis captured the 1,600 (5:34.2).Seconds for the Tornadoes went to Caroline Newlove in the 300 hurdles (48.51) and Maddie Kelley in the 3,200 (12:45.48).High jumper Abby Lewis took third (4-10).Newlove ran fourth in the 100 (13.46) and 200 (27.4), as did Izzy Thompson in the 100 hurdles (17.27) and Emma Musgrave in the 800 (2:33.87).The Tornadoes finished fifth in the 4x800 (10:51.04), 4x200 (1:53.57), 4x100 (52.34) and 4x400 (4:29.28).Musgrave, Genna Cleveland, Leah Weingart and Lily Allen ran the 4x800. Hancock guides Bellevue boysCLYDE — Owen Hancock figured in a pair of victories Friday to help Bellevue's boys end fourth at the Clyde A.W. Hendricks Invitational.Perkins edged Oak Harbor 124-122 for the team title, with Lake nosing out Bellevue 99-97 for third.Clyde held off Columbian 87-84 for fifth in the nine-team field.Hancock crossed the line first in the 400 (51.75) and anchored the Redmen to a win in the 4x400 (3:26.84).Evan Bova, Justin Bucher and Jeremiah Tuttamore joined him on the relay.Seconds for Bellevue came from Tuttamore in the pole vault (13-0), Bucher in the 400 (51.79), and the 4x100 team of Caden Cramer, Mack Strause, Tuttamore and Bucher (44.34).Cramer also captured third in the discus (153-2) and sixth in the shot (45-11).The 4x800 team of Bova, Tucker Williams, Caden Martin and Grayson Kadow claimed third (8:51.14).J.J. Vogel added fourths in the high jump (5-8) and long jump (18-7 1/2). Allen shot (42-0 1/4) and Kadow in the 1,600 (5:03.01).Dekin Crockett keyed Clyde by claiming the 100 (10.89) and 200 (22.66), running second in the 300 hurdles (38.17) and anchoring the Flyers to third in the 4x400 (3:29.11).Mitch Newsome, Dane Aldrich and Reese Rex rounded out the 4x400.The Flyers also got runner-up finishes from Rex in the 800 (2:03.43) and the 4x800 team of Ethan Skeels, Bentley Meade, Dane Aldrich and Rex (8:45.88).Thirds went to Rex in the 1,600 (4:46.7) and Newsome in the 400 (53.1).Sam Greenslade ran fourth in the 200 (24.03) and fifth in the 100 (11.38).Maxon Riehl clocked in fifth in the 110 hurdles (20.08) and eighth in the 300 hurdles (49.26).Aldrich added a sixth in the 1,600 (5:01.94) and a seventh in the 800 (2:13.75).Chris Bulger (11:08.55) and Preston Widman (11:18.08) ran seventh and eighth in the 3,200.The 4x200 team of Justin Kofron, Newsome, Koltan Turner and Greenslade took seventh (1:37.03).Turner, Hector Garza, Kofron and Greenslade ended eighth in the 4x100 (47.88).Xavier Melick sparked Columbian by winning the 800 (2:02.5), taking second in the 1,600 (4:43.09) and running a leg on the runner-up 4x400 team (3:27.93).Dashawn Russell, Jeremiah Dickerson and Amar'e LeGrant rounded out TC's 4x400.Dickerson, Dashawn Russell, Dazarias Russell and LeGrant also captured the 4x200 (1:31.94).Other seconds for the Tornadoes came from Conner Dukeshire in the 3,200 (10:35.8) and Dickerson in the 100 (11.01).Marcelino Gallardo ran third in the 3,200 (10:40.35), as did the 4x100 team of Dickerson, Dashawn Russell, LeGrant and Dazarias Russell (44.57).Pole vaulter Drew Newman (10-0) added a fourth, and the 4x800 team of Gallardo, Dukeshire, Owen Hoyda and Nathan Gaietto did the same.
