Carey sweeps Mohawk, stays unbeaten in N10

SYCAMORE – Carey's David Hall and Tyler Rossel each tallied two hits Thursday in a 5-2 N10 victory at Mohawk.Carey (12-2, 6-0 N10) led 1-0 after one inning and then tacked on two two-run innings to add onto the lead.Hall doubled, singled and drove in a run, but Rossel doubled and singled and both Carter Bame and Benson Kloepfer singled and drove in a run.Bame was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. He fanned six and walked six. Hall finished things out.Owen Patrizi singled twice and Kaden Bish singled and drove in a run for the Warriors (3-11, 0-7). Andon Clouse suffered the loss on the hill, giving up three runs on six hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked three. Ava Eilrich tripled and drove in a run.Eilrich was dominant in the circle, giving up a run on five hits in a complete-game win. She struck out nine and issued one walk on 97 pitches.Lexi Moon doubled and singled for the Raiders (6-6, 4-3), while Emma Jurovcik singled and drove in a run.Jurovcik took the loss in the circle, allowing four runs on seven hits in seven innings. She fanned four and walked one on 87 pitches. No. 3 Warriors get by RoyalsBUCYRUS – Wynford gave No. 3 Mohawk a game Thursday in N10 play. After Mohawk went ahead 3-0 after 3 ½ innings, the Royals got within 3-2, but a two-run top of the sixth was big for the Warriors in a 5-3 N10 win.Mohawk's Katie Woodland singled twice, Kaci Steyer hit an inside-the-park home run and drove in three runs,Aubrey Gottfried doubled and Blake Miller singled.Gottfried struck out 13 in the circle as she went all seven innings. She gave up three runs on four hits with three walks on 143 pitches.Mohawk improved to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the N10 – a game back of Upper Sandusky. Blue Jackets blank Stockaders 12-0OLD FORT – New Riegel scored in only three innings Thursday, but one was a seven-run frame as the Blue Jackets shut out Old Fort 12-0 in SBC River play.Maddie Heilman belted a dinger, she singled and drove in two runs for NR (12-2, 4-1 SBC River), followed by Ruthann Baughman with a pair of singles and three RBIs, Lacey Schalk and Ava Wensink each with a single and two RBIs and Jacqui Tiell with a single and an RBI. Karsyn Piper limited Old Fort's offense to just two hits in the circle as she went all five innings and struck out 10 with no walks.The two hits came from Makenna Crispen for OF (5-9, 2-5).Mylee Sebetto suffered the loss in the circle. 14-run 4th fuels RamsBUCYRUS – Upper Sandusky trailed at Bucyrus 7-5 after three innings. However, the Rams then plated 14 runs in the fourth to blow open the game in a 21-7 N10 win.Upper Sandusky (12-2, 7-0 N10) tallied 21 hits as Addy Johnson slapped two doubles, two singles and drove in a pair of runs, while Ella Frombaugh (2B, 3 RBI), Kadence Boes (2B, 5 RBI) and Lauren Parker (2B, 4 RBI) all produced three hits, Madison Wengerd, Madison Hart (HR, 4 RBI) and Kendall Taylor (2B) all added two hits and Ava Saull singled and drove in a pair of runs.Boes was the winning pitcher in her one inning in the circle.
