H-L food service coordinator wins state award

BASCOM — At Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools, when students head to the cafeteria, they're getting more than just a meal. They're getting something that Food Service Director Myranda Dible has spent years building: a program rooted in fresh food, pride and connection. Her hard work has paid off, too, as she was recently named Food Service Director of the Year by the Ohio Association of School Business Officials Foundation for School Business Management, during its 2026 annual conference and expo. Brian Rothrock, who nominated Dible for the award, said that her role within the district extends far beyond the kitchen. "Myranda Dible revitalized Hopewell-Loudon's school lunch program, transforming it into a source of pride, nutrition, and community engagement. The efficiency, communication, and positive morale of her staff are refreshing," said Rothrock. "She provides catering for many local events, showcasing the district's program to the wider community. Her impact goes far beyond serving meals; she is an inspirational leader and a true asset to her district." A career in cooking For Dible, the recognition reflects a path that she feels started long before school kitchens, but back in her childhood while cooking alongside her mother and aunt. She began her professional journey in 2009 at a short-order diner, a year after graduating from the district herself. Since then, she has cultivated a diverse portfolio, having worked in over a dozen establishments ranging from fine dining to healthcare food service. Dible is a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts ('20) and has held key leadership roles, such as kitchen manager at Marathon Corporate and serving as sous chef for Parkhurst Dining at Heidelberg University. "We are extremely excited for Ms Dible to be selected as the Food Service Supervisor of the year in the State of Ohio, that in the 25-26 school year over 3500 schools offered a USDA Nutrition program. It is truly a testament to her hard work and dedication," said Rothrock.
