Comets snap Rams' 8-game win streak

UPPER SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky had plenty of offense Saturday with 16 hits and seven runs, but Genoa did a bit more to win the game 12-7.Genoa jumped out to a 9-2 lead after five innings.Madison Hart paced the Upper Sandusky (16-3) offense going 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, while Madison Wengerd (RBI), Addy Johnson (2 RBI), Adilyn Hessey (2B, RBI), Kenslee Swavel (2B) and Lauren Parker all had two hits.Ella Frombaugh suffered the loss in the circle after pitching just 1 1/3 innings. She gave up six runs on six hits. 7-run 2nd inning buries OFOLD FORT – Toledo Christian came out swinging Saturday with an 8-0 advantage after just two innings in a 12-2 win at Old Fort.Old Fort (6-12) was held to just four hits as Abbie Ward tripled and drove in a run.Mylee Sebetto suffered the loss in the circle. Rams slip around ElidaUPPER SANDUSKY — Kasen Gottfried found a way on base and Josh Heilman and Caine Rupe made sure he scored Saturday in Upper Sandusky's 2-1 win against Elida.Elida (8-6) scored in the top of the first when Ben Adcock doubled in Gabe Miley.The Rams (9-7) tallied single runs in the third and fifth to get Jonathan Craig the complete-game win.Gottfried doubled and was hit by a pitch to get on in each scoring inning.Heilman ended 3 for 3 at the plate and Rupe singled, with each getting an RBI.Craig fanned four and allowed just four hits and two walks.Elida's Gavin Tickle struck out eight and scattered five hits and a walk in a losing effort. He also singled.Colton Graham and Miley added singles for the Bulldogs. Stockaders split with RedskinsOLD FORT – Old Fort got off the schnide, snapping a 12-game losing streak, splitting a doubleheader Saturday with Arcadia.In Game 1, the Redskins won 5-0, but the Stockaders got revenge in Game 2 with a 12-2 victory.In Game 1, all five Arcadia runs were scored in the fifth inning as Old Fort (2-14) was held to only three hits.Cody Adelsperger was 2 for 2 at the dish with a double.Landon Tyson took the loss in his 1 1/3 innings of relief. Emry Faist started and went the first 3 2/3 innings scattering just two hits and fanning six.In Game 2, the Stockaders got off to a great start scoring all 12 runs in the first three innings to build an insurmountable lead – also taking advantage of eight Arcadia errors.At the plate, Joshua Maxey singled three times and drove in three runs, while Caiden Swecker was 2 for 2 with a double, Tyson singled and drove in three runs and Andrew Tackett and Faist each singled and drove in a run. Tackett was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on two hits in four innings of work. He fanned three and walked four. Polar Bears sweep Warriors in DHCASTALIA – Mohawk went on the road Saturday to battle Margaretta for two games, but dropped both as the Polar Bears won 8-3 and 10-5.Mohawk led Game 1 2-0 after the top of the first, but that lead quickly evaporated with a six-run bottom of the first from Margaretta.At the plate, Kaden Bish doubled and drove in a run, while Logan Hemminger singled and drove in a run and Levi Tiell doubled.Tiell took the loss in his six innings on the mound. He allowed eight runs (four earned) on seven hits.Bryce Kirian lined three singles in Game 2 for Mohawk (5-11), followed by Tiell with a pair of singles and an RBI, Andon Clouse with a single and an RBI and Hemminger with a double.Zikki Magallanes suffered the loss on the hill, giving up seven runs on nine hits in four frames. Mohawk committed 10 errors on the day.
