Local students shine at SkillsUSA

A number of local students competed in the Ohio SkillsUSA competition May 5-6 in Columbus. District-wide, 132 students participated, including 55 from Sentinel-area schools. Local results are as follows. Gold medals Tucker Kingseed of Mohawk High School took gold in IT Services. Eli Lucius of Hopewell-Loudon won gold in Carpentry. Avery Feasel of Tiffin Columbian earned gold in Cosmetology. Drew Faeth of New Riegel won gold in Automotive Refinishing. Havic Smith, Calvin Scherf and Berlynn Goeller, all of Hopewell-Loudon, took gold in Automotive Customer Service. Silver medals Brenton Kleinfelter, homeschooled, along with Aiden Faeth of New Riegel, Vincent French of Seneca East and Cameron Agerter of New Riegel, earned silver in Team Works. Jasmine Miller of Tiffin Columbian, with model Atiah Foster, also of Columbian, took silver in Esthetics. Alanee Huber of Hopewell-Loudon earned silver in Prepared Speech. Four students advanced to nationals: Feasel in Cosmetology, Drew Faeth in Automotive Refinishing, Kingseed in IT Services and Lucius in Carpentry.
