Perkins upends Columbian, claims SBC Lake title

SANDUSKY – Perkins put constant pressure on Columbian, scoring in four of six innings it batted Tuesday in an 8-3 SBC Lake victory – which handed the league title to the Pirates.TC (5-12, 1-6 SBC Lake) registered only three hits as Blake Rhodes, Conner Reese and Jamison Woessner all singled. Wikel, Panthers edge Chieftains in pitcher's duelBASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon hurler Austin Smith was solid on the bump Tuesday, but Sandusky St. Mary's Cayden Wikel was just a little better as the Panthers clipped the Chieftains 2-1 in SBC River play.The loss eliminated the Chieftains (15-6, 8-3 SBC River) from any hope of a league title share, but the Panthers (13-5, 10-2) still have a chance, despite being two games behind Calvert.Wikel went all seven innings, allowing a run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks on 99 pitches.
