Lady Red lead pack on opening day

SANDUSKY — Bellevue's went 1-2 in two field events, picked up another win and ended second in the 4x800 Tuesday to end the first day of the Sandusky Bay Conference Championships atop the standings in the Lake Division.The Lady Red lead Perkins 77-52, with Columbian in third with 46 points. Sandusky and Norwalk are tied for fourth with 35 points, and Clyde is sixth with 25 points.The meet resumes Friday.Kailyn Turinsky (5-3) and Amerie Wagner (5-0) claimed first and second in the high jump for Bellevue, while Natalie Littlejohn (17-3 1/2) and Hallie McCarthy (16-3 1/4) had the same finish in the long jump. Pole vaulter Lilly Sosa added a victory (11-0) for Bellevue.Lady Red Reese Meacham, Joslyn Turinsky, Lyla Young and Kameron Koch ran second in the 4x800 (10:09.48).Shot putter Myahann Reesman claimed fourth (35-5), pole vaulter Ariana McCleese took sixth (8-0), and Bailey Nichols registered a seventh in the discus (99-6) and an eighth in the shot (28-9 1/2).Columbian picked up thirds from discus thrower Tara Duffy (119-3) and the 4x800 team of Genna Cleveland, Lily Allen, Emma Musgrave and Leah Weingart (10:22.85).Fourths went to high jumper Abby Lewis (4-8) and pole vaulter Ava Newman (9-6).Duffy added a fifth in the shot (32-2 1/2).Long jumper Erica Raubenolt came in sixth (15-1 1/2).Madie Hardina ended seventh in the pole vault (7-6) for TC.Eighths went to discus thrower Caroline Lewis (88-2) and high jumper Josie Kanler (4-4).Braylee Laughlin's third in the pole vault (9-6) keyed Clyde.Fliers Kayla Tischler, Marissa Gessner, Laney Renfro and Jolene Brennan crossed the line fourth in the 4x800 (10:33.88), while Addy Siedenburg added a fourth in the discus (113-8).Annmarie Davis finished fifth in the high jump (4-8). Tuttamore, Cramer earn titles on first daySANDUSKY — Bellevue's Jeremiah Tuttamore and Caden Cramer earned the area's lone Lake Division wins Tuesday on the first day of the Sandusky Bay Conference Championships.Tuttamore cleared a personal-best 14-0 to claim the boys pole vault while Cramer won the shot with a heave of 46-7 1/2.The victories helped the Redmen end the first day of the meet in second place, trailing Perkins 86-60. Sandusky is third with 47 points, followed by Norwalk (32), Columbian (31) and Clyde (14).The meet resumes Friday.Bellevue also got a third from pole vaulter Bryson Manning (11-0), with Cramer adding a fourth in the discus (139-5).J.J. Vogel (5-8) and Eli Turinsky (5-8) finished fourth and fifth for the Redmen in the high jump. Vogel also took fifth in the long jump (19-8).Sixths for the Redmen went to shot putter Deacon Nunez (41-7 1/2) and the 4x800 team of Dreydin Strause, Tucker Williams, Tyler Wagner and Caden Martin (9:39.59).Payton Boreman added a sixth in the discus (132-0).Long jumper Jackson Barclay took eighth (18-2 1/2).Columbian's best efforts on Day 1 came from fifths from discus thrower Draven Steele (136-10) and the 4x800 team of Noah Townsend, Owen Hoyda, Nathan Gaietto and Landon Hinke (9:24.69).Bishop Taylor added a sixth in the high jump (5-4) and a seven in the long jump (18-6 1/4) for the Tornadoes.Pole vaulter Drew Newman also ended sixth (10-0).Steele added an eighth in the shot (40-4 1/2).Clyde's 4x800 team of Ethan Skeels, Preston Widman, Dane Aldrich and Reese Rex came in third (8:38.6).Pole vaulters Owen Waugh (9-0) and Jakob Metz (7-0) finished seventh and eighth for the Fliers.Other eighths went to high jumper Mitch Newsome (5-4) and Waugh in the discus (114-1).
