Kids Quest to explore history

FOSTORIA — The Fostoria Area Historical Society will host a Kids Quest scavenger hunt June 6 at the Fostoria Museum, 123 W. North St. Steve Kramer, president of the historical society, said the idea "has been floating in the air for awhile," and came together with help from his daughter, Lindsey Griffin. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each child will receive a passport book at the start of the hunt to carry while searching for historical items throughout the museum. Volunteers stationed inside will stamp each book as items are found. Once complete, kids can take their passports outside to collect a prize, though Kramer said prizes are still being determined. The hunt is free and open to the public for children up to age 12. No registration is required. "We're hoping to get a good group of kids down to get used to looking at their history," Kramer said. Kramer said plans are continuing to take shape for the museum's Heritage Day Car Show July 25, with more details to come.
