VARSITY TENNIS: Columbian finished second overall behind a title run by Dravyn Dicken and Brock Siesel at Friday's Fremont Ross Doubles Tournament. Places were determined by total games won at each position. Dicken and Siesel took the No. 1 doubles title by beating Sandusky's Blake Ott and Brady Mullins 10-3 and Oak Harbor's Everett Hand and Caden Meyers 10-4 while losing 10-8 to Charlie Kramer and Carson Lewis of Fremont Ross. Runner-up finishes for the Tornadoes came from Grant Blonde and Brady Miller at No. 3 doubles, and Bentley Schoch and Lucas Widman at No. 4 doubles. Blonde and Miller beat Sandusky's Ashton Chapman and Zach Haas 10-6 and Oak Harbor's Jacob Frank and Layne Rosuluski 10-4, but lost 10-9 to Logan Wensinger and Casen Schwochow of Fremont Ross. Schoch and Widman beat Sandusky's Zeke Cutcher and Ian Stiner 10-6 and Oak Harbor's Jack Barron and Kale John 10-6 while falling 10-4 to Chase Culbertson and Maden DeWalt of Fremont Ross. Parker Nye and Liam Randell took third at No. 2 doubles for TC. They beat Sandusky's Liam Chamberlain and Ishan Chopra 10-5 and Oak Harbor's Aidan Boss and Adam Kurtz 10-4, but lost 10-3 to Jackson Swinehart and Brandon Fry of Fremont Ross.
